Jérémie Thircuir is a curator, ceramic artist, and founder of Keraforma, a platform dedicated to contemporary ceramics. A graduate of the Sorbonne, he has been deeply engaged in the Chinese contemporary art scene for over 20 years, sharing his time between Shanghai and Jingdezhen.
Thircuir’s curatorial approach blends academic depth with playfulness and accessibility, aiming to create tangible, material experiences that resonate with a broad audience. His practice is grounded in a pragmatic and sensorial understanding of art, often revolving around themes such as the reinterpretation of traditional forms, craft, and the ecological and cultural dimensions of food and agriculture.
His projects span a wide range of media — from ceramics to fermentation — and often blur the lines between exhibition, design, and research. Notable curatorial works include The Farm for the K11 Art Foundation, exploring agriculture in contemporary art; As Time Goes By, the first contemporary art exhibition in Suzhou’s UNESCO-listed Surging Wave Pavilion; and Another Landscape at the Yang Art Museum, a survey of contemporary landscape photography in China.
Thircuir is also an independent publisher, having produced books featuring artists such as Nobuyoshi Araki, Liu Xiaodong, and Xu Bing. He lectures at Shanghai Normal University and contributes to the Louis Vuitton City Guide for Shanghai and Beijing.
