Jérémie Thircuir is an Independent curator and consultant, a Sorbonne university graduate who has been immersed in the Chinese contemporary art world since 2006,
As Curator Jérémie is interested in experimenting with unusual exhibition formats blending rigorous academic content with playfulness and accessibility.
Jérémie Thircuir believes the future lies in a very down to earth approach and put an emphasis in material experiences. His main research focus on the contemporary apprehension of traditional art form and on the cultural and ecological dimension of food and agriculture.
His range of experiments is very broad and goes from Contemporary Ceramics to Fermentation.
He Curated “The Farm” for the K11 Art Foundation, “As Time Goes by” inside the Surging Wave Pavilion, the first ever contemporary art exhibition to take place inside a UNESCO world heritage recognised Suzhou Garden, “Another Landscape”, for the Yang Art Museum, A comprehensive contemporary survey of landscape photography in China and many others.
As Publisher through his own imprint, he has published books by today’s leading contemporary artists such as Nobuyoshi Araki, Liu Xiaodong, Xu Bing and many others.
Jérémie Thircuir is also a lecturer a Shanghaï Normal University and a contributor to the Louis Vuitton City Guide for Shanghai and Beijing.
